Assumption of Risk & Release of Liability

This Assumption of Risk & Release of Liability (“Agreement”) applies to all participants attending any Wildwood Skin Labs retreat, workshop, or related activity.

By registering for and participating in the retreat, you acknowledge and agree to the following terms.

Assumption of Risk

I understand that participation in a Wildwood Skin Labs retreat involves educational demonstrations, hands-on learning, movement, wellness-based activities, and shared environments that may carry inherent risks.

These risks may include, but are not limited to:

  • Physical discomfort, soreness, or fatigue

  • Minor injuries related to movement or manual techniques

  • Emotional responses that may arise during somatic or experiential learning

  • Exposure to environmental factors associated with travel and group settings

I acknowledge that these risks cannot be entirely eliminated, even with reasonable care and safety measures in place.

I voluntarily choose to participate and assume full responsibility for my own physical, emotional, and mental well-being throughout the retreat.

Personal Responsibility

I understand that:

  • Participation in all activities is voluntary

  • I may opt out of any activity at any time without explanation

  • I am responsible for communicating my own needs, limits, and boundaries

  • I am responsible for listening to my body and nervous system

  • I will seek appropriate medical or professional care outside of the retreat if needed

Wildwood Skin Labs does not provide medical diagnosis, treatment, or therapeutic services.

Medical Disclaimer

I acknowledge that Wildwood Skin Labs retreats are educational in nature and are not a substitute for medical care, mental health treatment, or professional therapy.

I affirm that I am responsible for consulting with a licensed healthcare provider regarding any medical conditions, injuries, allergies, or concerns prior to participating.

Release of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, I hereby release, waive, and discharge Wildwood Skin Labs LLC, its owners, instructors, staff, contractors, vendors, volunteers, and venue partners from any and all claims, demands, actions, damages, losses, or liabilities arising from my participation in the retreat.

This release applies to claims resulting from ordinary negligence, but does not apply to gross negligence or willful misconduct.

Property & Personal Belongings

I understand that Wildwood Skin Labs is not responsible for the loss, theft, or damage of personal property brought to the retreat, including but not limited to tools, equipment, personal items, or vehicles.

Photography & Media

I understand that photographs or video may be taken during the retreat for educational or promotional purposes.

I grant permission for my likeness to be used in such materials unless I notify Wildwood Skin Labs in writing prior to the retreat.

Acknowledgment & Agreement

By registering for the retreat, I confirm that:

  • I am at least 18 years of age

  • I have read and understood this Assumption of Risk & Release of Liability

  • I voluntarily agree to these terms

  • I understand that my registration constitutes a legally binding agreement
